Nika Kaoto, The Ocean

In front of you is a work by Nika Kaoto – The Ocean. The artist says about her work: “One day I came across information on what deformations happen to the shell and internal parts of the body of turtles and how other animals suffer from plastic that gets into the water. I was deeply moved by it, I wanted to expose it as “a picture of our time”. As something that has started to happen to us in the recent decades, but stands a hazard of becoming a new reality and standard for future generations.” Nika Kaoto graduated from the architecture university, she lives in Rostov-on-Don. She turned to street art, when she got tired of looking at an old garage from her window. Nika talked to its owner and asked for a permission to paint it. The result inspired the artist to create new works, the consequence is this impressing painting occupying 20 square meters.
