CITY DAY 2018 IN ROSTOV-ON-DON
The city’s Administration Office has developed a plan of organizational and festive events to celebrate the 269th anniversary of foundation of Rostov-on-Don.
The official celebration of the City Day will start at 10 a.m. on September 14 with a flower-laying ceremony near the stela Rostov-on-Don, the City of Military Glory. At 5.30 p.m., the Fifteenth International Jazz Festival, Rostov Jazz Invites, will be officially opened in the congress hall of the Don State Technical University. The evening program of the festivities also includes the Night of Friendship involving various delegations.
  
September 15 is the central day of the festivities. At 10 a.m., a theatrical opening of the festivities to celebrate the 269th anniversary of the city’s foundation will start in Levoberezhny Park. The entertainment program in the park will continue until 8 p.m. The gala concert given by young Rostovites and dedicated to their favorite city, a Russian national energy-saving festival and events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the supplementary education system in Russia will also take place there.

From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Don River will host motor boating cup competitions, and from 1 p.m. to 1.30 p.m., it will see a water sport festival, a sailing race of kid and young adult sailing vessels, a parade of sailing cruiser vessels.
M. Gorky Park will also welcome festivities to mark the City Day, and they will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Multinational Rostov Festival will take place there as well.
At the embankment of the Don River, a sports festival for young adults, Sportive Rostov, will take place in the daytime, and an urban festival of young families of Rostov will be held from noon to 2 p.m.
Sports events will be organized all day long, themed creative areas will operate as well.
At the end of the day, the festive gala concert will be given at Theater Square, to be followed by fireworks.
